Karen was born March 20, 1931 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She studied the University of Hawaii and Rollins College in Florida for one year but instead of pursuing her degree, she decided to work as a model. Her body measurements were definitely fit for that job and Steele had a huge success. She became even more popular as an actress. Her most famous roles are Virginia on Marty and Mrs Lane on 1959’s western Ride Lonesome. Steele was married to Dr. Maurice Boyd Ruland.
